Calgary (CP) After a stale holiday season, it would appear that the race for the GDHL title just got a whole lot more interesting. On the heels of the news conference in which Sather's Eyes GM Khoo announced the acquisitions of both Cole and Havlat, the Leaf Haters were first to respond by nabbing All-Star defencemen Dion Phaneuf along with future Hall-of-Famer Brendan Shannahan.
Kevin Kwasny released the following statement:
"Even though we have 5 superstars on our team (Iggy, OV-1, Malkin, Gonchar and Hossa) it isn't enough. I want them all. Dion fits the bill and all other teams suck. There is no way I'm going to stand here letting teams with no talent in net and no talent up front beat me. With these moves, Mike should just write my name on the cheque!"
We thought that was the end of it until GDHL commish Mike managed to pry Datsyuk out of Ryan's hands. During the news conference of that trade announcement, Mike stated "There was no way I could sit here while my competition is making moves. All other teams suck. There is no way I'm going to stand here letting teams with no talent in net and no depth up front beat me. With these moves, I should write my own name on the cheque!"
GM Khoo was surprised by the calibre of players that were attained by both teams... but didn't expect either to go down without a fight. "I think all my good work has been counteracted by what transpired in the last 24 hours. In addition, the comments about my goalie situation hurt. That was cold man... cold."

Havlat and Cole Landed!
Calgary (CP) This morning's press conference brought about the news that we've been waiting to hear which was leaked late last night. The Sather's Eyes have set their sights on Martin Havlat and Eric Cole to help them with their GDHL Title run.
"Today hopefully signifies to the rest of the league that we believe that the bunch of people in our dressing room can win it all this year without affecting the future too much. We're excited to get the game-breaking abilities of Havlat and the proven goal-scoring of Eric Cole that should provide the depth that we need for the playoff stretch."
Tucker, who was signed as a FA early in the season, has been largely a disappointment never looking the same after coming back from off-season surgery. Him along with goalie prospect Justin Pogge were packaged together in addition to a previously acquired 2nd round 2008 pick and a 4th round pick in 2009.
"Atkins drove a hard bargain, but ultimately I believe it was a fair trade for both parties. I paid a big price for rental players without giving up any of my own draft picks next year, while Mark improved his prospects for the upcoming season."
The health concerns with Havlat and Cole had to be brought up during the interview.
"Yes they haven't been the most healthy players historically. But I'm not asking them to be healthy all year... only half of one. They are too skilled for me to not take a chance on them."
When asked about the questionable goalie situation that has dragged down the Eyes all year long, Victor stated, "There were only a few goalies out there that I wanted. None were available. My situation isn't ideal but it'll do for now. If Conklin, Ellis and Kolzig can rotate behind Hasek in the #2 spot, I think we won't loose too much ground in that area over the course of the next 3 months."

GDHL Rumours: Sather's Eyes Acquire Key FA's For Final Push?
Calgary (CP) There is buzz around the league that GM Khoo has pulled off a "significant move to increase their chances of capturing a GDHL title" as it was bluntly put. A news conference has been scheduled for a formal announcement, but there has been league speculation as to who they have acquired.
"All I can say at this moment, is that we are very optimistic about our chances to win this year and it was the right time to pull the trigger." GM Khoo said when pressed for a statement.
"I think this sends the right message to the fans that we are willing to make key moves to put us into position."
One has to wonder how much of a reflex reaction it might be due to the massive 20 player deal between GGopher and One Eyebrow completed last week?
"I'd be lying if I said it didn't affect my decision. But let's not forget that as of this morning Jordan was still 85+ PPts out of first. I'm unsure how much time there is left to catch us. Seriously though, my scouting staff and I have been looking for the right deal all year long. It has less to do with Jordan than it does with the Skins and Leaf Haters. Their teams are too good to just sit still. If we do that, I'm not sure if we have the endurance to run with those top tier teams. With these moves, pending league approval of course, it gives us that fighting chance."
So who could it be? Some goalie help would be welcome, but with the emergence of Ty Conklin it may be an area that is simply a band-aid solution right now and could wait until next year. With a couple of forwards on the shelf (Sakic and Morrison) the Eyes may look to add some depth which may be lacking. It is this blogger's opinion that the D would probably be left untouched since they have been solid all season long.
It'll certainly be a nice change of pace for Khoo, who usually spends his most time on drafting quality players and being reserved in his moves.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: Sather's Eyes (Victor)
Calgary (CP) Before I go on, first I'd like to thank the faithful readers of my blog. Many good suggestions have come and I'm always looking for feedback. As for me, although I am temporarily in first place, these Report Cards are based on the stats as of the midway point of the season.

Analysis:
As I've pointed out to several other GMs, I really don't know how I'm amongst the leaders. I've tried many many times to obtain a number 1 goalie without anyone willing to budge. Perhaps this blog has to do something with it? I've been fortunate enough that my forwards and defence have been making up my ineptitude in net which I can only hope to continue until the end of the season.
Grades:
+ Forwards (A): Ranks 2nd in G, 2nd in A. With the injury to Sakic early on, the Eyes thought there would be a major drop-off in this area. Handzus has been a bum but with 8 players in the Top 50 PPt getters, the Eyes have been blessed with having a lot of depth despite Sakic on the IR.
+ Defence (A-): Three of the top 15 PPt defencemen are on the Eyes with Pronger having a GDHL MVP worthy season. I've had the luxury of rotating between Paul Martin, Brewer and Komisarek in the number 6 spot. By far my deepest position.
+ Goalies (D-): Ranks 10th in W, 4th in L. For every good, there is a bad... and this situation has been ugly. Hasek's groin problems along with the Caps inability to win had GM Khoo having to rotate between many marginal NHLers. This included Dan Ellis, Alex Auld, Patrick Lalime and now Ty Conklin.
+ Special Teams (A): Ranks 1st in PPG, 1st in PPA. Many GMs do not seem to value defencemen the way I seem to... and this is the sole reason why I want good ones on my team. PPP has been the category that I've been able to make up huge ground in due to the bonuses you get. Again, just compensating for my Goalies.
+ Goon Factor (A-): Ranks 1st in PIMs. Another area I've been able to score big in is having a tough team that take dumb penalties... thank goodness!
+ Overall (B+): Without a trade for a solid goalie, the Sather's Eyes will need some second string backups to perform if they are to have a chance.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: Shamrocks (Trevor)
Calgary (CP) Now a shell of its former self, the Shamrocks have seemingly exploded their team in hopes of a better future. Has it worked?

Analysis:
How the mighty have fallen. I really fail to see how the moves that he has made so far will improve his chances to win the pool in the next 3 years. IMHO, both his forwards and defence have gotten significantly weaker. I will agree though that in net he has improved vastly, but without a supporting cast, I'm skeptical of how high the Shamrocks will finish next year.
Grades:
+ Forwards (F): Ranks 12th in G, 9th in A. There are some people the Shamrocks can build around... starting with Kane, Toews and Richards. The problem is there are no established superstars that you can count on to produce every year. With exception to Richards, Trevor may have no other 100 PPt scorers.
+ Defence (D-): With exception to Hainsey, the Shamrocks no longer have a defencemen in the top pairing especially after losing Rafalski and Chara... two deals that have really puzzled me.
+ Goalies (C+): Got Nabokov for OV-1 but has failed to find a consistent 2nd goalie after having as many as 6 on his roster.
+ Special Teams (B): Ranks 6th in PPG, 5th in PPA. The bright spot of the Shamrocks has been the PP. Despite being near the bottom in total points, an astounding 46% of them come on the PP, which is a GDHL league high.
+ Goon Factor (B-): Ranks 4th in PIM. I like this team's overall toughness. An area that PPts could be made up.
+ Overall (C-): IMO, I don't think that Trevor will get too many bites from the leaders since a lot of his extra assets are of low value and the people with good upside are untouchable. A long summer may be ahead.

Calgary (CP) Key injuries, under-performers and little bench depth has Ryan vying for the dubious number 1 selection next year.

When you have a starting goalie that is injured, a former Rocket Richard winner scoring only 5 goals midway through the season, and a $7M man with only 25 points, it should be no surprise that John Doe is struggling. Combined with the fact that a person that will be on the IR for 4 months is still in the starting lineup is a sign unfortunately that Ryan has perhaps given up on the pool and is waiting until next season.
Grades:
+ Forwards (D): Ranks 9th in G, 11th in A. For every Datysuk, Naslund, Ribiero and Rolston there has been a Cheechoo, Vanek, Stafford and Straka to drop him down. All with high expectations and only half of them showing up to play is the problem.
+ Defence (C-): I actually really like Ryan's D. A team led by Lidstrom is always good in my books. That being said, there is a significant drop-off in the #5 spot downwards.
+ Goalies (C+): Ranks 9th in W, 10th in L. The tough loss of Fleury for an extended stretch produced a bright spot on the team with Tim Thomas. Having two goalies though on teams that don't win much these days is what hurt this grade.
+ Special Teams (D): Ranks 11th in PPG, 9th in PPA. If Sith and the Elbows get this low, there isn't a way I can justify too high a ranking in this area despite having Lidstrom.
+ Goon Factor (F): Ranks 12th in PIM. If you had a tough time guessing who led the team in PIMs for Paul, guess who gets the title for Ryan? Justin Williams. At least Paul had some guys that like to play rougher... I haven't seen this many visors since the Eyebrows ;)
+ Overall (D+): Ryan has 10 people that he can build off of quite easily and has a lot of assets that could garner Ryan a lot of valuable draft picks/upgraded keepers in the next 6 weeks. IMHO, this would be the best and fastest way to improve the team to be competitive next season.

Analysis:
The Boomers haven't missed many games, they have a decent set of forwards, defence and goalies... so why do they stand near last place? Bottom line is that there have been some major under-performers lead by Elias, Gionta, Demitra and Ruutu. Although there have been some good performers (Kovalev), people finding their groove (Penner) and some excellent surprises (Cullen), they cannot make up for the lack of production from their elite players.
Grades:
+ Forwards (D): Ranks 11th in G, 5th in A. I think I pretty much said it above... and just to drive home the point that Paul is frustrated, he has regularly dressed Ryan Kessler!
+ Defence (C+): The best part of the Boomers had to be the D. Its too bad that Boucher was out for so long or else this ranking would've been higher. A very solid bunch that I expect to improve in the second half.
+ Goalies (C): Ranks 7th in W, 1st in L. The injury to Backstrom and the continual flip-flopping in MTL really hurt Paul early on since he didn't get to maximize his GP. With the Wild goalie healthy and Price being sent down to the minors, this area will be a big PPT producer as the season winds down.
+ Special Teams (C-): Ranks 10th in PPG, 7th in PPA. Out of a roster of 28, 5 players account for >50% of his overall PPP. Where's the help?
+ Goon Factor (D+): Ranks 10th in PIM. Guess who the leading PIM getter is on the Boomers. Boucher? Nope. Commodore? Nah. Ruutu? Not a Chance. Its Saku Koivu. 'Nuff said.
+ Overall (C-): An extremely disappointing year so far for Paul with the point spread too much, Paul could possibly cash in on renting out players to the leaders to build for next season.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: GDC Bruins (Mike)
Calgary (CP) The Bruins have made some big deals that have help land them in first spot so far in the league. A place that I expect will be hard to displace him from come April.

Significant Roster Changes:

Analysis:
After the devastating loss of Patrice Bergeron early on in the season, the Bruins reacted quickly by bringing in Henrik Sedin. In addition, Mike finally landed his big stud defencemen in Chara that addresses concerns on the back-end on a team with few weak spots. It should surprise nobody that he on top of the pack.
Grades:
+ Forwards (A): Ranks 3rd in G, 1st in A. The B's may not have a lot of Superstars, but he has many high-end forwards capable of breaking the 100 PPt plateau this season. Boyes, Stillman, Parise and Lupul have all been excellent.
+ Defence (B+): Chara has really added so much to this corp that now boasts a revived Pitkanen and the rookie Johnson. As with the theme of his forwards, everyone is playing to their max potential.
+ Goalies (A): Ranks 3rd in W, 8th in L. After a slow start, Luongo is making another case for MVP. Between Roberto and Rick, the Bruins have no worries here since each will play a minimum of 70 games a piece.
+ Special Teams (B+): Ranks 3rd in PPG, 4th in PPA. Between Savard and Sedin, Mike will never have to worry about PPA. Its the production of Parise and Lupul on the PP that is really holding it together in this area though.
+ Goon Factor (C): Ranks 6th in PIMs. I really thought Johnson would have more of a mean streak. Ah well. Nothing lost to many of his competitors since there is a virtual tie in this category.
+ Overall (B+): According the the weightings/rankings, the Bruins and Leaf Haters are in an exact tie for Team Report Cards... with Kevin being within a "good night/bad night" combination striking distance in the standings that matter. Should be fun to watch both GMs battle it out heading down the stretch.

After the devastating loss of Patrice Bergeron early on in the season, the Bruins reacted quickly by bringing in Henrik Sedin. In addition, Mike finally landed his big stud defencemen in Chara that addresses concerns on the back-end on a team with few weak spots. It should surprise nobody that he on top of the pack.
Grades:
+ Forwards (A): Ranks 3rd in G, 1st in A. The B's may not have a lot of Superstars, but he has many high-end forwards capable of breaking the 100 PPt plateau this season. Boyes, Stillman, Parise and Lupul have all been excellent.
+ Defence (B+): Chara has really added so much to this corp that now boasts a revived Pitkanen and the rookie Johnson. As with the theme of his forwards, everyone is playing to their max potential.
+ Goalies (A): Ranks 3rd in W, 8th in L. After a slow start, Luongo is making another case for MVP. Between Roberto and Rick, the Bruins have no worries here since each will play a minimum of 70 games a piece.
+ Special Teams (B+): Ranks 3rd in PPG, 4th in PPA. Between Savard and Sedin, Mike will never have to worry about PPA. Its the production of Parise and Lupul on the PP that is really holding it together in this area though.
+ Goon Factor (C): Ranks 6th in PIMs. I really thought Johnson would have more of a mean streak. Ah well. Nothing lost to many of his competitors since there is a virtual tie in this category.
+ Overall (B+): According the the weightings/rankings, the Bruins and Leaf Haters are in an exact tie for Team Report Cards... with Kevin being within a "good night/bad night" combination striking distance in the standings that matter. Should be fun to watch both GMs battle it out heading down the stretch.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: Flyin' Elbows (Mark)

Analysis:
In my Pre-Season analysis of Mark's team, I genuinely thought that Mark had a good chance of winning IF his team stayed healthy. Well, his team didn't stay healthy and I'm unsure how much higher he'd be in the rankings even if everyone was playing. The glaring holes on defence and in net are too much to overcome.
Grades:
+ Forwards (C): Ranks 6th in G, 12th in A. While having a ton of people that can put the puck in the net but not many people that can set them up, the Elbows have had a rash of injuries on the forward front that causes this ranking to drop. + Special Teams (D-): Ranks 7th in PPG, 12th in PPA. This is a direct effect of the lack of PP defencemen on his team.
+ Goon Factor (D+): Ranks 11th in PIMs. Residing with a bunch of teams all within 40 PIMs of one another, Mark won't make up any ground in this area.
+ Overall (D): Since Mark has packed it in for this year and is playing for next, some of his injury-prone forwards may be held out as bait to help the higher teams push for title. Some more high draft picks would be optimal for Mark to claim some good defencemen that will become available next year.

+ Special Teams (A): Ranks 2nd in PPG, 2nd in PPA. I always cringe when I see PIT score a PPG since either Whitney, Gonchar or Malkin's name is almost always attached to it. But it doesn't end there. Iggy, Hossa and Ovechkin just add to my headache.
+ Goon Factor (C-): Ranks 8th in PIMs. If there was one knock on the Leaf Haters is that they are soft. But they are also lumped together with 5 teams within a couple of PIMs to make this category not matter too much.
+ Overall (B+): A strong rating for a strong team that you can never discount. Should battle the Bruins for the GDHL title this season.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: Airborne Attitude (Ken)
Calgary (CP) An overhaul to Ken's team has given the Attitude a new outlook for the upcoming years.

Analysis:
The number one concern for the Attitude going into the season was goaltending, which probably still needs to be addressed in future seasons. Overall though, his defence and offence is on average better than before but it came at a steep price of Sidney Crosby. Extremely surprising that Kane and Toews aren't on his team any longer but it has definitely paid off for him this year.
Grades:
+ Forwards (B-): Ranks 4th in G, 6th in A. Ken has a definite deeper crop of forwards than on opening day which have produced extremely well. Antropov has had a breakout season so far and Sundin is enjoying a great year with Blake's play improving.
+ Defence (B+): With the addition of Phaneuf, Ken has a formidable corp that includes Rafalski, Aucoin and Ohlund... all Top 3 D on their respective teams and all getting a lot of PP time. By and far the most improved area on the Attitude that will serve him well for the next few years.
+ Goalies (D+): Ranks 11th in W, 8th in L. Where would this area be without the FA Osgood? Bulin hasn't been getting it done and Manny has had some injuries that have forced Ken to rotate quite a bit in this position. This situation is still better than some other teams though *gulp*
+ Special Teams (C-): Ranks 8th in PPG, 8th in PPA. His D is getting the job done on the PP but his forwards aren't. I expect this to improve in the second half though as Shanahan and Hejduk get more playing time in the Attitude's lineup.
+ Goon Factor (A-): A very good mix of players that average 1 PIM/GP that will help Ken make up points big time in this area.
+ Overall (C+): Although there is no Crosby, the future looks good for Ken. He has some fundamental building blocks to improve on in the last 3 years mixed in with a veteran presence. I expect him to push for 5th place but may finish as low as 7th.

Mid-Season Team Report Card: Sith (JW)
Calgary (CP) A gamble that didn't pay off has severely hurt JW's chances.

Analysis:
The gamble to draft both Forsberg and Selanne has worked out in the worst possible scenario for JW with neither player seeing any ice in the foreseeable future. This was ~90PPt loss in players that could've been drafted in those positions and playing... which would've landed JW in 4th place. Instead, 135 PPt is the difference from first place and a possible sign of building for next year.
Grades:
+ Forwards (C): Ranks 9th in G, 8th in A. Outside of the top 5, there is a big drop-off. Thank goodness Heater and Alfie are around to carry the load with Gomez and Huselius showing signs of life. A good core to move forward with.
+ Defence (D+): After a nice move to pick up Zidlicky at last year's draft, Sith has a decent D-corp that includes Campbell and Meszaros. The only problem is that with exception to Marek and Brian, there are no other PP quarterbacks which adversely affect the Sith's Special Teams rating.
+ Goalies (B): Ranks 4th in W, 6th in L. With the departure of Bryzgalov, Sith now has 2 slam-dunk starters to play almost 60 games a piece. They may not earn a lot of shutouts, but they'll rack up the wins.
+ Special Teams (F): Ranks 12th in PPG, 11th in PPA. With a GDHL league low of 28% of total point coming on the PP (league average is 38%) JW has to be disappointed with how his team has performed with the man-advantage. There is a direct correlation between his lack of D playing on the PP but with almost a 100 PPP spread between the first place team and the Sith's PP totals, this is an area JW will be looking to improve on next year.
+ Goon Factor (B-): Ranks 5th in PIM. As long as Carcillo stays with the team it seems as though JW will be good in this department without giving too much offence. The rookie is the league PIM leader and can score the occasional goal too.
+ Overall (C): JW shouldn't be discouraged with his performance this season since I believe with some tweaking in minor areas (most notably on the PP) he should be able to move to the middle of the pack by next season.

Having the best goalie tandem in the GDHL, Jordan is being patient with his group of forwards that have been average so far and needs to improve with any shot in the top 3.

Significant Roster Changes:
+ Sidney Crosby
- Dion Phaneuf
- Ryan Getzlaf
Analysis:
Although giving up a lot, the Whalers landed the best franchise player possible and gives Adam a legit forward to build his team around. I'm sure Adam will agree that even though Zetterberg is good, his back has always been a problem and it is nice to breath easier with someone who can play every game.
Grades:
+ Forwards (C): Ranks 6th in G, 9th in A. The Whaler forwards have had a roller-coaster ride. This season has seen the development of young stars but may need a year or two more development to challenge in offensive categories. With Crosby though, this ranking will improve.
+ Defence (D+): Without Dion to anchor the D and Souray's injury problems, the Whalers have no real stars on the backend. If Adam can land one or two established defencemen using some of his younger star forwards, it may compensate for the loss of Phaneuf. Currently the defence contributes little to the Whalers offensive totals.
+ Goalies (A-): Ranks 1st in W, 4th in L. Kipprusoff looks to be his old self and as long as Biron and Gerber keep their end of the deal for the rest of the year, this will be the highlight of the Whalers season.
+ Special Teams (C-): Ranks 5th in PPG, 10th in PPA. With the loss of Souray and Dion, the special teams of the Whalers have taken a big hit. Crosby will make up some of the difference, but not all as the Penguins PP is run by Gonchar.
+ Goon Factor (C+): Ranks 3rd in PIMs. With the trading of Dion and Getzlaf, the Whalers also lost their two biggest PIM getters so their 3rd place ranking is deceiving. Ever since that trade, the Whalers PIM rate has declined and I suspect the rest of the pack to close that gap in 2 months.
+ Overall (C+): The Whalers are right in the middle of the pack, the exact place this blogger had them pegged. A 5th place battle should ensue between Ken and Jordan over the next couple of months for this team with a good outlook ahead.

GDHL: Player Power Rankings (December)
Calgary (CP) After much whining from many GMs on their players not appearing on previous iterations of the Power Rankings, note that I don't take the approach "What have you done lately" to judge. If I did that, you could just look at the NHL monthly awards. This list also takes into account impact to their respective GDHL team along with statistics. In addition, it is a cumulative ranking, so just because some players have a mediocre month doesn't necessarily warrant them dropping out from the rankings.
Forwards:
1. Vincent Lecavalier, TBL (N/C): Where would Tampa be without Vinny? He is involved in just over 50% of all Tampa goals, highest in the league. Combine that with the Art Ross lead and he is right now the best player in the league.
2. Ilya Kovalchuk, ATL (+4): A streaky player that is probably one of the most fun to watch. Re-asserting himself this season as the star of the team and has been the reason for the Thrashers turn around in the standings.
3. Jarome Iginla, CGY (N/C): The Flames only had 1 regulation loss in December and the combination of Iggy and Huselius has been the reason why. Jarome netted 14 G in December, which was most in the NHL, and next to Vinny has been the most consistent forward in the league.

Defencemen:
1. Chris Pronger, ANA (N/C): With the return of Scotty to the lineup, the ducks boast the best D-corp in the league. Pronger's value shouldn't dip at all since he'll still be playing the same minutes and PP time. The second best PPt total and a killer on the PP.
2. Dion Phaneuf, CGY (NEW): A young Pronger with similar numbers, Dion has had a huge December with his improved defensive play help the Flames challenge for the NW crown. We can definitely see why Ken wanted him so badly.
3. Brian Rafalski, DET (N/C): Has the most PPP amongst defencemen in the league and is only 2 points behind his teammate, Lidstrom, for the D scoring title. Shows amazing creativity and has proved to be an upgrade over Schneider for the Wings.

Goalies:
1. Evgeni Nabokov, SJS (+2): The top PPt getter also has the league lead in wins and had a huge December posting 10 victories. Right now, there is not much separating Luongo and Evgeni, but Roberto missed some time with an injury that has hurt his ranking.
2. Roberto Luongo, VAN (-1): Missed 5 games due to a sore hip but you wouldn't notice it the way he's been playing. Best goalie in the league and needs to be with the Canucks one line offence.
3. Tomas Vokoun, FLA (NEW): With the prospect of facing 30+ shots a game, Tomas has managed to keep the Panthers above .500 despite the teams offensive woes. Did the Preds pick the right guy? Me thinks not.
4. Martin Brodeur, NJD (+1)
5. Henrik Lundqvist, NYR (-3)

GDHL: GM Power Rankings (December)
Calgary (CP) November was hard to beat in terms of the amount of significant trades being made, but December did see some teams do some deals that have paid off right away. A tough month to judge because there has been a lack of activity.
1. Mike (N/C): Although December saw Mike's huge lead vanish as the Leaf Haters and Sather's Eyes both had huge months, it is tough to displace the No.1 team. His acquisition of Holmqvist didn't work out as planned but seemed like a good deal at the time. He keeps his ranking solely based on still being No.1 at the mid way point of the year after building one of the most well rounded teams.
2. Ihor (New): After being picked by this blogger to win the GDHL this year edging out Kevin, Ihor has had an extremely disappointing campaign so far... but there are signs of hope. Landing Jokinen for Hejduk and a FA was huge as Ihor continually does a good job of selling players when they have their highest value. For obtaining a keeper for the rest of pool, Ihor makes his debut in the rankings at #2. His team is gaining momentum and should come on strong in the second half. Whether at 70 PPt deficit is too much remains to be seen.
3. Kevin (N/C): The Leaf Haters made up 35+PPts on the Bruins in December and is closing in. As long as he continues to get good goaltending from either Leclaire or Bryzgalov he should be pushing for the lead by end of January as his players continue to score in bunches.
4. Adam (-2): This 4th place could've been occupied by either Jordan or Ken since there has been a lack of activity on every one's part. Adam gets the nod because of a higher ranking in November. Tough to rank a GM for simply "letting it ride".
Hoping for an exciting 2008.
