Significant Roster Changes:
+ Peter Forsberg
+ Lubomir Vishnovsky
- Mathieu Schneider
- Rod Brind'Amour
Analysis:
Jordan's love for the Kings has drawn him once again to pull the trigger on a big trade. This time to land the biggest King of them all in Vishnovsky whom has been extremely good to him. Having the best goalie tandem in the GDHL, Jordan is being patient with his group of forwards that have been average so far and needs to improve with any shot in the top 3.
Grades:
+ Forwards (C): Ranks 7th in G, 7th in A. Outside of the top 6 forward spots, positions 7th - 12th have really hurt the GGophers in the first half marred with inconsistent play and injuries. That being said, as long as Ilya stays hot and he gets more scoring from the Kings, he could stay in contention based on the strength of his goalies and D.
+ Defence (B): Blessed with 4 - 1+PPt/G defencemen, Jordan can use this flexibility to carry extra forwards. Lack of PPP is what brings this grade down a little.
+ Goalies (A): Ranks 2nd in W, 12th in L. Going into the season, this was his strength. After shaky starts by both Brodeur and Vokoun, they have played extremely well over the past 2 months to get GGopher within striking distance. Imagine how close he'd be if they played well right from the start?
+ Special Teams (C): Ranks 9th in PPG, 6th in PPA. Needs more PP production from the backend and more people that can put the puck in the net. But hey... doesn't everyone need that?
+ Goon Factor (C-): Ranks 9th in PIM. In a virtual tie with many teams in this category, there isn't much potential for growth here. Jovocop and Rivet will be the leaders on this team.
+ Overall (B-): It'll be interesting to see what Jordan does in the next 2 months before trade deadline. If he is able to land a keeper forward in the 6th spot without giving too much he may be able to gain some ground... otherwise "Go Kings Go".
